We are proud of the prizes and awards that we were awarded for our achievements last year. We were particularly delighted to be awarded the innovation prize of the German Tourism Industry, that we took back to Rostock in October 2012. By awarding us this prize, the German Tourism Industry (BTW) recognized the fact that we have revolutionized the German cruise industry and transformed a niche product into something with mass appeal. What’s more, in the award speech, it was said that AIDA always has its eyes on future issues and takes a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving. For us, this prize is an incentive to continue surprising the world with new ideas and live up to our leading role on the market.
We have also assumed a pioneering role in the cruise industry in terms of safety. In its 2012 cruise test, the ADAC awarded the ships tested in our AIDA fleet with a rating of “very good”. The experts at ADAC have thus once again confirmed the high onboard safety standards of our fleet, and indeed of the cruise industry as a whole.
AIDA Cruises scored another success at the Pegasus Awards. In a pan-European survey with almost 30,000 participants, our company was selected as the most trustworthy brand in the cruise industry. This is motivation for us to continue focusing on high standards in product quality, safety, service and sustainable business in the future.
As Germany’s market leader in the cruise industry, AIDA Cruises is a pioneer in terms of the quality and service we provide for our guests. And we are delighted that this commitment has been honored by our guests themselves. AIDA Cruises took first place and the Golden Seal for service quality in 2012. We were up against 13 other cruise operators and scored the highest mark for customer service.
We see all of these prizes and awards as an incentive to continue giving it our all to live up to our pole position in the cruise industry.
