At AIDA Cruises, we take on responsibility for people and the environment. We understand sustainability as a process of comprehensive quality which we continue to develop and improve constantly. We evaluate and continuously optimize our actions, taking into account our own aspirations, new government regulations, and technological progress. The basis for this ongoing self-assessment is internal exchange and dialog with our stakeholders. We want to exceed our guests’ expectations for an AIDA vacation again and again. For AIDA Cruises, the safety of guests and the crew is paramount at all times. Our goal is to ensure safe operation of the ship at all times, to be technologically pioneering, to promote diversity and attractive working conditions, and to establish a recycling system for all our products.
For implementation of our sustainability strategy, we set targets for the short, medium, and long term. We measure achievement of these targets based on key performance indicators. Our sustainability program always takes into account current ecological, social, and economic developments. Our targets reflect our ambition to continue to set standards in sustainability in the cruise industry. Accordingly, communication between our Chief Sustainability Officer, Dr. Monika Griefahn, her team, and the individual departments of the company is quite extensive.
Our sustainability program is controlled centrally and implemented locally. It is anchored on all levels of the company and is implemented by each department. Our integrated management system supports optimization for the benefit of our objectives.
All objectives and measures as well as the current status of our sustainability activities have been compiled in an overview.
