Ciao Bella: AIDAbella’s farewell tour through Southeast Asia

Rostock, 03. August 2016

Saving the best for the last: With some wistfulness, countless memories, and a unique dream voyage, AIDA Cruises will be discontinuing AIDAbella’s service for the German-speaking market this winter season. The company will celebrate eight unforgettable years of AIDAbella with exclusive cruises to exotic dream destinations on the most beautiful coasts in Southeast Asia. This gives German fans and anyone who would like to take a last cruise with AIDAbella a one-time opportunity to accompany the ship on its emotional farewell tour.

AIDAbella was christened as the fifth ship in the AIDA fleet on April 23, 2008, by supermodel Eva Padberg in Warnemünde. Since then, around 750,000 guests on board have explored the most beautiful vacation regions in the world - including the Baltic Sea, the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, the Orient, Southeast Asia, the USA, and the Caribbean. AIDAbella has traveled 603,491 sea miles since it was put into service.
In 2010, the ship even made it into the Guiness Book of World Records when Galileo reporter Jan Schwiderek skied behind it off the coast of Alicante at a speed of 14 knots for precisely six minutes and 25 seconds, breaking the world record.

With AIDAbella, AIDA Cruises will be offering a year-round ship in China for the first time starting in the spring of 2017. AIDAbella will depart from Shanghai and offer cruise vacations “Made in Germany” as a new premium product for the booming Chinese market.

The farewell season for AIDAbella features some one-of-a-kind highlights: From mid-December 2016 to the beginning of March 2017, the ship will depart from Bangkok on eight fascinating 14-day cruises that take guests to Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The lands of the smiles promise a truly exotic experience - perfect for a summer break in the middle of winter. AIDAbella fans are so excited about this offering that the final cruise for the German-speaking market - “Ciao Bella: From Thailand to China” - in March 2017 is already sold out.
At the end of October 2016, AIDAbella will say goodbye to Europe and depart on its three-part journey from Venice to Thailand. These cruises are just as unique in their variety.

On all AIDAbella farewell cruises, a fantastic entertainment program awaits guests with wonderful artists, renowned lecturers, and inspiring workshops on board.

The Southeast Asia cruises with AIDAbella from/to Bangkok/Laem Chabang can be booked starting from €999 per person (AIDA VARIO price with double occupancy, limited availability).
The 19-day cruise from Limassol (Cyprus) to Cochin (India) begins on November 9, 2016, and is offered starting from €899* per person (AIDA VARIO price with double occupancy, limited availability).
