AIDAsol opens the cruise season in Hamburg
This morning AIDAsol was the first cruise ship of the new season to dock at the Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity. Travelling from Le Havre with around 2000 passengers on board, she is completing a 14-day cruise.
After a change of passengers, AIDAsol is set to depart the Hanseatic City toward 6pm in the evening. From here she is proceeding on a 7-day city cruise to London, Paris, Bruges and Amsterdam.
With the number of ships docking at 58, AIDA Cruises is again set to be of major importance to the economy of the Hanseatic City this year. In 2014 the cruise operator has 3 ships stationed in Hamburg. Besides AIDAsol, AIDAluna and AIDAstella will also be departing from here from the beginning of May onwards on a range of different cruises to Western Europe and the North Cape.
From 2015 onwards AIDA Cruises will even operate a ship out of Hamburg throughout the year. On 20 June 2015 our new flagship AIDAprima will set sail on the first of a number of 7-day cruises to the cities of Western Europe during her debut season.
